• Orchestration: Instrumental timbres, texture, orchestration techniques, scoring for different ensembles.
• Compositional Techniques: Serialism, twelve-tone technique, microtonality, aleatoric music, extended techniques.
• Music History: A survey of Western art music, focusing on relevant stylistic periods and compositional practices.
• Ear Training: Interval recognition, chord recognition, melodic dictation, rhythmic dictation.
